Summer Holdays

This little work was developed from some sketch’s done down at the beach on holidays. Vibrant colours juxtapose the blush trumpet like blooms capturing relaxed, fun days in the sun. The cold wax medium gives increased texture and translucency leaving a matte finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
