Sunshine

During restrictions I set myself the challenge of painting flowers in the various styles of some favourite artists of mine. This one is some home grown sunflowers and a little bit of Schiele’s. Worked from a graphite sketch and then layered with wax and pigment to give a textured finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
