Vintage Mum

This single chrysanthemum dried in the vase and I loved the way the colours intensified and the leaves turned the same pink as the flower and the whole became so interesting. A vintage milk bottle vase to finishes the story. The cold wax medium adds texture and leaves a matt finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
