What's In A Name

These beautiful peony roses asked to be painted. Their luscious blooms and supporting greenery are just lovely. I began with graphite and a blue ground and worked up to a textured finish with the cold wax medium leaving a matte finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
