The oil painting, Lara Tilbrook, Jeannie's Mother tells the narrative of environmental activist, goldsmith and artist, Lara Tilbrook. Ten years ago Lara returned from a prestigious jewellery position in London, purchased 400 acres on Kangaroo Island and began revegetating the pristine bushland, encouraging the return of native flora and fauna. Over Christmas 2019 her land was badly burnt by out of control
bushfires on the island which decimated much of the area. Her hope though is still strong to empower her daughter Jeannie to live harmoniously with, and to continue to fight for, the environment and native wildlife she loves.
