Since I first went skiing as an 18 year old (way, way back in time) I have loved Australia's Alpine Snow Gums. Unfortunately at the moment scientists are very concerned about them as a beetle is currently devastating large numbers of them, causing die back and death. So I'm going to do a series of them before they disappear.

A large ghost gum (corymbia aparrerinja) sits majestically in front of a deep ochre rockface in outback Australia.

I am always attracted to both eucalypts and light, so this one did it totally for me! These Western Australian mallee eucalypts are just divine and I cannot stop painting them.

The colours of sky, rocks and land come together to depict the diverse and compelling shapes in our Australian landscape.

The striking stripes and patterns of an Australian snow gum (eucalyptus pauciflora) stand out against the early morning mist of the snow fields.
