Nullabour Girl waiting is influenced by old retro photographs, and road trips across Australia. I particularly like the remoteness depicted in this artwork, the lines and colours feel both remote yet uplifting. The painting is part of a series of women arriving or departing from place.

Artworks are inspired by fossicking the shorelines, wharves and jetties. they often contain bold colours, a painterly brush stroke or pallet knife effect is also evident. Family history also sneaks into some of her work and the exploration of people and their connections to place. Carmen's home studio is currently in the South West of Western Australia.
