Artist Statement
“ TIMELESS PASSAGE”

These dynamic features of the Busselton jetty captivated my attention and so the seed of a composition began. The more I pondered, the more I engaged with my subject.

This artwork uses the embracing beams and piles from Busselton’s most characteristic icon to be a metaphor for life:
the painted and textured layers represent our experiences, what is known and what lies beneath the surface, created over time;
the beams have weathered many a storm, are the supports- the people who touch our lives in a positive way, providing reinforcement, encouragement and strength.;
the passage of light offers the way, our inspiration, fortitude and legacy.
