This artwork has been inspired by the ephemeral blooming of pink flannel flowers in the Blue Mountains a few seasons ago. After the bushfires and then rain the seed stock of Actinotus forsythii burst forth along the mountain ridges. It was a sight to behold and not one seen regularly.
Here I have a scene influenced by the ridges and valleys complete with fields of pink flannel flowers in the foreground framed by a burnt Banksia serrata.
