This portrait is a most recent in a series of works exploring the feminine. I wanted to look at sexuality and beauty from the point of view of both the viewed and the viewer and establish contact. Further, I had to seek liberty in the conversation as the painter. Consequently this is a long conversation with many hours of work to finish the concept, and executed through layers and impasto. “Pandora” is a name, and a woman created by Zeus the Greek God, she has become the myth of the first woman and the bearer of all ills. I wanted to meet the woman. I found her to be very misunderstood and very beautiful.
