Colour may be more pleasing to the eye however it doesn't nessecarliy touch the heart.
And so, a full life can’t be as intricately described using only two tones; black and white. It must carry shades that range in value from dark to medium to light.
The depth of our valleys shade our life with resilience and strength and if we let it, the light lets in compassion and empathy.
As we experience more highlights and shadows in life, the more we discover our once immovable values and beliefs become more like shades of grey.
The best of characters are developed (created, born, birthed), in light and shade, in the highlights and shadows. Just like an artist sees in a multitude of shades, so too should we learn to seek the freedom, brilliance and mastery that is found in light and shade.
