Acrylic on wood
Signed on the back.
This is an abstract painting of the beautiful Veronica Lake and her iconic peek-a-boo haircut.
I watch a lot of old movies and am intrigued by old Hollywood (in particular silent era to 1940s). Under the carefully constructed façade of glamour was a much uglier reality and many stars of that time led difficult and tragic lives, including Lake.
The painting is on a cradled wood panel, so it is similar to a stretched canvas in terms of its structure.
Sides are painted as can be seen in the additional photos.
Finished with a matt varnish and signed on the back.
