Afternoon Dreaming, an artwork created in 2005 as part of my ‘Precious’ series - an exploration of family relationships. Here the family is enjoying a peaceful afternoon of rest, soaking up the healing qualities of nature.
This is one of those works I painted influenced by the pointillist period. Early on in my career I experimented with a lot of mediums and style until my own way fully developed. For me art is about playing with the materials and thoughts and each work follows its own journey to completion.
My works are based on personal experience of family, my many years nursing and life in general.
My ‘Precious’ Series was created between 2004-2006, using a variety of mediums.
Afternoon Dreaming was my second last oil painting prior to moving acrylic as a medium and is being released now due to moving house and studio. My last oil painting ‘Missed You 2006’ remains in my collection.
