Artwork Description

So often the love of drawing and playing with an idea, then allowing that idea to develop onto its own journey, creates a new series or furthers one’s artistic development and skills.

Patched #5 is one such example, the last work from my 2002 “Patched” Series where I equate the land to patchwork quilting.
The quilt; constructed with quiet patience, diligence and skill; covers, protects, warms and comforts.

In my Patched Series, quilt making echoes the same qualities used in the cultivation of the vineyards.
This work was selected for the -The Fleurieu Biennale, Mc Laren Vale, SA in 2002 and subsequently selected to -Tour Regional Galleries, SA the following year in 2003
