Artwork Description

Finally the rain arrives after 10 long years of severe drought, a thankful joyous rain creating incredible atmosphere with strange aromas pervading our land.
Once begun it didn’t stop, now invading our sacred spaces creating torrents, isolation and some devastation, repaired in time by natures natural process and human endeavour.
In PONTOON the inhabitants gaze in awe and ponder the inundation of their surrounds. Their hope and recovery is expressed through areas of emotive colour.
This work was selected as a finalist in the Scope Galleries Art Awards 2014, Warrnambool, Vic . it has not been shown since having stayed in my collection.
My works consist of a slow process of layering mixed media and text, a reference to our many layers of history.
