Another painting from my trip to the West MacDonnell Ranges in the Northern Territory. This is Simpson's Gap, the first from a series of gorges along the W MacDonnell after you leave Alice Springs. We visited this place at the very end of the dry season so most of the gorges and river beds were dry. The red rocks contrasting with the intense green of vegetation in the mid-afternoon are impressive.
