Inspired by the colourful boat sheds of the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia nestled amongst the tea trees. I loved the dappled light effects of a late afternoon on the weathered structures and hoped to capture the vibrancy of the painted colours that makes these sheds so iconic.
This work was created using a palette knife to apply thick layers of oil paint in an impasto style. This painting is not only colourful but textural. It comes ready-to-hang in a rich oak wood shadow box frame.
