This was inspired by the Billy Buttons (Craspedia) in our garden. They are also known as “drumsticks” and are in the daisy family. They are a beautiful native Australian plant with a beautiful buttery yellow glow which I have tried to capture in this painting. Being an everlasting flower, means that they are also inside the house!! For me they symbolise everlasting hope, warmth, freshness and joy. Nothing like being surrounded by these qualities in your life.
I sustained a traumatic brain injury in 2015 and started to paint as part of my rehabilitation; so I give 10% of all my sales to Brain Injury Australia to support their wonderful work.
