Artist Picks: Sharon Monagle

By Sharon Monagle

About this Curation

From bold colour to contemporary French inspiration, I've gathered a range of artworks that captivate me in different ways. While the works are mostly figurative like my own paintings, there are also some abstracts dotted throughout. I particularly enjoy Franko's work The Cash which reminds me of the work of French contemporary artist Jisbar and Marnie McKnight's beachscape - she uses a beautiful palette and her works are whimsical yet evocative. We’ve all been on that beach!
There's one piece that's been hiding in my shopping cart included in this curation - I'm just debating how much art is too much to buy in one week! With this in mind, if you love something, you'll need to get in quick to snag it.

About the Curator

Sharon is one of Bluethumb's most popular artists. Based in Melbourne, she has recently returned from as residency at the Chateau d' Orqueveaux in France. Sharon's colourful artworks consider topical issues such as human rights, social justice and feminism. Working fast and allowing the painting to develop as it goes, her work is characterised by a naive style that has long appealed to Bluethumb's many collectors.
