Brushstrokes of Tradition _ 1 Denison, North Sydney Exhibition

This year we celebrate 2024 National NAIDOC Week with the theme Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud. Together with 1 Denison, Bluethumb presents Brushstrokes of Tradition, an exhibition with South Australian Artists Kelly Taylor, T’keyah Ware and Kelilah Taylor-Ware. This family demonstrates their commitment to preserving the flame of tradition by perpetuating the art of painting across generations. Their dedication to this enduring tradition not only honours their cultural heritage but also strengthens the bond and values shared among family members.

The exhibition is open to view at 1 Denison, North Sydney from 7:30am-6pm Monday-Friday.

This beautiful Collaboration Piece was created by me Kelilah Ware & my mum Kelly Taylor, this piece was hand-painted freely & outlined with dots by my mum Kelly & and fully dot-painted by me. This painting represents my mum and me spending time with family out on country collecting bush foods such as witchetty grubs, honey ants,quangdongs and swimming in the creeks & waterholes. These days are also very special times for us were we have lots of fun but also have that quality time with family where all the learning from our aunties, uncles and elders. The 'U' symbol represents my family sitting around the campsite, the footprints show us coming together, the bush foods are spread all over the painting, large circles represent waterholes, and small circles represent rock holes. My Paintings are wrapped in bubble wrap, then rolled and placed into a rigid mailing tube for extra protection. Stretch or Box Shadow Frame is optional and can be selected on the products page. Alexandra Guglielmino

Alexandra is Bluethumb's in-house Interior Designer hailing from sunny Queensland. With a Diploma of Interior Design and over 7 years experience in Interior Design and 6 years at Bluethumb, she has a strong background in commercial design, art advisory and procurement and is a creative mind who brings a broad range of experience to the Bluethumb team.
