Artwork Description

Winslow Homer Inspired Plein Air Painting, painted from the vantage of the front paddock. Painted in Spring, when the light and air is reportedly the cleanest in the world. Painted for nothing more than it is a special place where I can paint surround by the dogs and farm animals and my newly established cherry orchard.

Artist Bio

Currently I am a visual art teacher living in a remote corner of Tasmania's North West. As an artist I am interested in a divierse range of representation. In some ways I am a traditional practicioner focusing on landscape, portrait and still life. In particular, I have been captivated by the breath taking scenery of my new home. In most the art I sell I employ acrylic paint on quality canvas. But, I also draw extensively. Recently I am becoming more intersted in a surrealist revival. When I lived in Sydney I often poainted harbour scenes. Since moving to Tasmania, I am painting rural vistas, animals and local celebrities.
Currently I am teacher visual art at a local high school and living on a small farm with my three dogs, numerous beehives, chooks, turkeys and the occasional devil, quoll and tiger snake. Each year I enter the charts festival and have paintings displayed at the local tourist information centre. I am happy to take commisions. I am also an author specialising in crime writing.
