Artwork Description

It's late afternoon as the sun glides slowly down the sky, nestled behind clouds. Slowly it is unveiled as the sky moves, shadows change and rays of brillant sunlight escape the cloud layers. It is hidden no longer, waves of light flood the sky and colours emerge where before there was only grey. The sun is revealed in all it's power!
This stunning large canvas shows a grand view of a late afternoon sky and sun. Colourful and lively, it satifys the eye and rests the mind. Landscape aspect, 1580x1140x40mm, acrylic on canvas mounted to a solid framed stretcher, wired, ready to hang.

Artist Bio

As an artist, I am inspired by the beauty and complexity of the modern world. Every artwork I create is entirely original—ensuring a unique and authentic expression of my vision. My approach draws on my background in computer graphics and scenic design, using layered techniques to lift the image and meet the expectations of the modern eye.

My creative journey began in the film and television industry, where I worked as a scenic artist crafting large-scale sets and backdrops. The fast-paced nature of studio work taught me to work quickly and efficiently, while deepening my love of painting and visual storytelling. I later transitioned into commercial animation, specializing in realistic environments and surface textures. This experience sharpened my understanding of visual realism and digital technique. Yet, painting remains my most satisfying medium—where I can fully explore texture, light, and emotion. Working in both oil and acrylic, I aim to capture the richness and beauty of the modern world.

I’m inspired by masters such as Elizabeth Vigée Le Brun – for her elegance and expressive realism, William Bouguereau – for his mastery of skin tones and classical composition and Marcel Marlier – for his believable imagery and gentle storytelling. Their work continues to inform my pursuit of realism and emotional depth in every piece.
