More art from OUTBACK series series

This composition has three layers of Mangrove trees going off into the distance. Surrounding the mangroves are bodies of saltwaterThis painting is part of my new series titled OUTBACK.
My palette has a dominant bronze/copper background with contrasting blue highlights. These have been inspired by my travels to outback NSW before lockdown.
Here the trees are sparser and more simplified. The colours are more dominant in the objects in the landscape.
The subject matter is semi-abstract landscapes. Organic shapes dominate the composition. This is a beautiful series. It is contemporary and incorporates my wonderful lollipop trees. All these paintings relate to the land and the energy it provides us.
The large organic shapes in the compositions are sometimes opals, stones, ponds, and treetops. These organic shapes also can be found in my other series: Coastal and Falling gems.
I can’t remember a time in my artistic career where I did not paint trees. Trees are a constant source of joy and inspiration in my art. I just love them.

All art by Deanne Newland

Large organic ovals dominate the foreground. Windswept trees float in the middle ground.
The background depicts distant hills with a warm blue sky. A large pale gum tree dominates the foreground. In the background is a lake and a little island dotted with trees. The colours are aquas, burnt oranges, and fresh greens. A large rocky outcrop dominates the composition. Clinging to it against the odds are gum trees. The blues and burnt orange/ brown colour schemes are complimentary. A warm blur sky contrasts the foreground. The Darling River meanders through the yellow landscape. On either side a small gum trees.
