Meet abstract artist Debra Duffy, who works from her home studio situated at the foothills of the Blue Mountains, Sydney. After decades of creating Debra has declared that the time has come to share her artwork for all to enjoy.
While born and bred living on a farm in the Hawkesbury with her family, Debra's early years was formed with a deep appreciation of the land and its vast open spaces.
Debra's true love for mother nature from which has become a major source of inspiration in Debra's artwork.
Debra's discovery of drawing and painting began as a very young child that seemed always her one true passion which eventually led Debra to studying a Bachelor of Arts- Visual Arts at Western Sydney University graduating in 1995.
Debra currently resides at the foothills of the Blue Mountains NSW with her beloved's hubby and son along with a very spoilt Border Collie following a 10 year stint living in the Central West NSW.
Debra's highly creative abstract artwork is inspired by her surroundings and her love of interiors and design. Debra lets her imagination go wild and free in her abstract artwork using intricate patterns to express herself. Each artwork becomes an inspiration to the next as she further investigates varying elements either being a process, a theme, or even a certain pattern and this is what makes each of her artworks quite unique. Debra experiments with line making, uses very fine details of shapes, textures, patterns, and colours and uses them to form their own poetic language. She also uses layers and contrasting textures by varying the thickness of the paint applied mostly using acrylics but also uses watercolours.
Dream Home artist 2024! Debra’s artwork has proudly featured on the Dream Home show which was selected by contestants for the superb renovation of Mel and Brads home.
