I mostly reinterpret my photos in my art practice, usually giving them only a glance then turning my back on them. But every now and then a painting emerges without prompt almost fully formed, as though all the images I see coalesce into a single artwork. This small painting is inspired by the colours of the Australian landscape when you get right away, far from cities, towns and farms. Though we're reminded daily of the terrible drought here at the moment, there is an energy and endurance about this ancient land I tried to capture.
Painted on all sides, ready to hang.
Please note: I do my best to photograph my artwork accurately, but due to differences in monitors and devices there may be some slight variation in colour.
