View on the Seine at Vernon, towards the old mill. The Pierre Bonnard's house is just behind the mill. From my 2023 French trip.

Artist Bio

Dr. Ekaterina (Katia) Strounina is an award-winning artist living in Redland bay, Brisbane's seaside suburb . She has a successful career in science alongside painting and drawing.

Katia is an avid painter with an acute sense of colour and composition, masterfully handling both subtle subjects and scenes with brave colour and contrast decisions. Her capture of the nature of her subjects is precise and convincing. Katia’s art combines quirky modern approach with the foundations of classical art. The drive behind her artistic expression is the beauty of natural subjects, from still life to animal world to landscapes. Australian nature provides her with the most inspiration, but she also lays down on canvas her impressions and memories from European travels.

Applying her knowledge of the history of painting techniques, chemistry and materials science to artwork, Katia ensures that her paintings confer to the best standards for technical quality and longevity.
