Shifting Relationships 2

I have enjoyed revisiting the abstract while being inspired by meditation music for these works. Using fleshy colours and the use of blurring and blending ( my favourite thing to do!) I Feel this series of paintings have an evocative sensuality about them.

In world mythologies cloud-crowned mountains have represented an elevation above the mundanity of everyday life. They were the abode of the gods and divine power. For spiritual aspirants the way up was obscured in veils of mist. The aim within my landscapes is to portray places of profound quietude that encourage the mind to rise aloft, to be aware of the transience of all things: the illusion of any notion of permanence.
