I was inspired to do this while baking an apple pie for my husband's birthday. I like the image because of the mindfulness associated with doing what might nowadays be considered as a monotonous task. I also deliberately avoided painting over the yellow underlayer so that little flecks of yellow peek through the main subject.
This piece is painted with acrylics on on 7mm thick plywood board and is unframed. Some of the texture of the original board is still visible in places which further adds to the layeredness of the painting.
