Artwork Description

Shadow Dancer

She steps swiftly between the moonbeams, wildly twirling amongst the shadows. In the bleakest of the night she reaches for you and holds your hand, guiding you through your darkest journey.  She comforts and reassures, leading through the shadowy gloom to the hidden parts of self. She holds a mirror glowing brightly with moonlight reflection and you are thrust asunder into the self realisation of your deepest fears, regret and sorrow. Holding back no longer, you face the blinding light of transfiguration. No longer lost, you have faced your shadows. She farewells you and lets go of your hand as you step into the newfound brightness of tomorrows promise.

Artist Bio

Welcome, my name is Emily Lauro, and I am so happy that have chosen to take a moment to share in my art journey. As an artist I create intuitively utilising colour, form and layers of texture. To me this is representative of the complexities and challenges required to achieve self growth and healing through inward reflection. My palette is everchanging, and is often determined by the emotion of the piece. The colours utilised have been intentionally selected to help create balance and positive energy, complementary to the story of the artwork.I create with a fluid intention, allowing an artwork to take shape and move within any direction progressively. I fully immerse myself with a piece, and as a result each artwork has its own unique feel and its own story to tell. My intention is that the works are visually interesting, and have been created with positive intentions and joy. I am a true believer in the healing properties of art. My greatest wish is that my artwork can offer a moment of brightness, thoughtful escape and happiness. I aim to instill positivity through colour and energy into each of my works for others to enjoy.
