I love painting animals. The array of colours, textures and patterns provides an endless supply of inspiration.
But is it an endless supply?
Whilst there is an abundance of diversity on this planet, it is also the human race’s perpetual desire for abundance that is pushing thousands of species to the brink of extinction.
This painting is part of a series titled ‘Inaction’, from a ‘Faithless’ song “...inaction is a weapon of mass destruction...”
Each painting in the series features an animal threatened as a result of our inaction. We need to change. I hope my work shows the beauty inherent in our natural world whilst conveying a message in their eyes that they cannot communicate themselves.
