This artwork was inspired by European Gothic Architecture that came to be in the Middle Ages.
It is powerful and extravagant - often associated with Cathedrals and Churches.
I find this design to be quite mesmerising with the many pillars that all join around the centre and the outside along with the staircase that winds around the base.
I also like how the open window brightens half of the painting while casting the other half into shadow.
