We are so fortunate to share our country with some of the most beautiful and interesting looking birds in the world and the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo is no exception.
As with most bird species, the males are particularly vibrant and their feathers are so glossy that they can often have a blue or green tinge in the sunlight.
In my artwork, I've accentuated the blue tint to increase the contrast and highlight his incredible plumage.
I have chosen to keep the background simple with just a slight glow behind the cockatoo to ensure that he effortlessly remains the sole focus.
To create this artwork, I used quality acrylic paint on a stretched thick-profile canvas. In addition, I have coated the painting in a waterproof satin varnish. This ensures protection for the artwork over time.
And finally, for convenience, I package and ship my artworks ready to hang.
