Drawing on paper
Signed on the front.
What inspired me to do this drawing is the way, when it's on your wall, it's as though you're looking out a Tokyo apartment window. My other artworks have been from a street-level perspective, whereas this one is from about 3 stories up. This work is not part of a series, but it is a continuation of my works of Japanese streetscapes.
The styled scene is not perfectly to scale, but it's close. Note that the artwork is unframed, unlike what is shown in the scene.
My style is inspired by Studio Ghibli animation and traditional Japanese woodblock printing.
My signature is in the bottom right corner in black marker.
My partner took the reference photo when we were in Ginza, Tokyo in 2019.
