Zara is painted predominantly with just 2 colours (red and yellow ochre), along with black and white, plus a bright splash of cerulean blue for whimsy, and used just a couple of square-edged brushes.

I wanted this painting to be exotic but also playful and intriguing, allowing the viewer to wonder who this stunningly beautiful woman is. Revealing only half her face is a quirky take on a traditional portrait, resulting in a light-infused contemporary rendition of curves, shadow and colour which is unmistakably beautiful, tribal and exotic.

The painting is much more stunning in real life; photos do not do her justice. I am sure it would look anazing in your home or office.

The sides of the artwork are painted pale grey, similar to the bottom right hand corner of the front of the panting. I can change this on request before delivery at no extra charge - just get in touch!

It would look great framed, however this is not necessary as the painting is stretched over an internal frame and is therefore ready to hang.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born into a family of musicians, authors, actors, photographers and painters, it was natural that life lead me here, poised at the canvas, brush in hand. I live entirely off-grid at my bushland home in rural Victoria with hubby, dogs and a gorgeously prolific vegetable garden.

I use art to express my immense – well, let's say obsessive – passion for the indigenous landscape, which is easily recognised in my vibrant colourful artworks. Luscious layers of pigment are applied with energy and spontaneity, often switching from brush to palette knife to provide additional texture and depth to my paintings. Recently I have embarked upon a series of paintings using skin tones to further broaden my skills.
