I am a Melbourne (Naarm) based artist. Working mainly with landscapes, I seek to interpret the natural world using a unique and vivid mix of realistic and impressionist elements. This painting was inspired by the incredible and dynamic Tjoritja Country (West Macdonell Ranges). Hiking on the Larapinta trail I was struck by the drama being played out on geological and seasonal scale, that have continually shaped this ancient landscape. As a visitor on this country I was humbled and awed. Fire, water, wind, spirit... a reminder that life can endure in the extremes.
