This piece is about reflection and self-growth. Things can be SO easy in hindsight - 20/20 so they say.
Easy to say when reflecting things like -" I should have left that situation earlier", or "how did I miss that?"...but I want to remind you that when you are stuck, feeling at a loss, its simply not easy at all, not one bit! It is hard. Almost impossible. It's terrifying. It takes courage, help of those around us if we're lucky enough to have them, energy, time, strength, support to go forward safely.
When I paint I channel my emotions and past experiences, of which there is darkness but also so much light too. The gold in this artwork represents the hope and the light and the joy that I have felt in my life upon removing myself from certain situations in the past. I strive to embody beauty, light, and tranquility into every piece I create. Whilst this artwork has dark and moody colour tones, the gold and white negative space surrounding it contrasts this. Where there is darkness, there is light...

Don't be too hard on yourself in hindsight - that's my message with this piece. I only hope someone may connect with this message.
