This painting was inspired by brilliant orange Corymbia Ficifolia blossoms that were blooming in my neighbourhood. Both the flowers and the seed pods are striking, and, like many of our unique Australian native flora, rather surreal. The Kangaroo paw flowers are a deep, velvety red. The green glass vase is from the Art Deco period.
