Fiona Hill is a visual artist based in Melbourne, Australia. Underlying her art is a passion for authentic expression, colour and creativity. Her love affair with art and all things creative began at an early age. Fiona paints intuitively. Her process is one of building up layers of colour and texture with acrylic paints and inks. She works with a combination of thick and transparent layers of colour often allowing the foundation layers to show through.
Fiona's signature style is unique and one of a kind.
Her paintings are characterized by a mixture of colours, splashes and drips and have a luminous, soft and dream like quality. Fiona's figurative paintings often hold a personal narrative and align with her spiritual journey. Hidden within them can be stories about inner life and connection.
Fiona was born in Scotland. She spent much of her younger years travelling the world with her family. She lived in Malaysia, Indonesia, England and spent many years teaching in the north of Western Australia in the towns of Geraldton and Wyndham. Her first creative inspirations were Hollywood musicals and artists from the Post Impressionism era. Further inspirations have been gathered over the years via her travels and experience of various cultures.
"The process of creating is important and rewarding to me. Life is much more fulfilling when we are in regular touch with our creative source."
Fiona's paintings are held in private collections in Australia, England, Germany, Austria, Indonesia, Canada and in the United States of America. She hopes that they will continue to find new homes far and wide.
All Fiona's paintings are signed on the front and the back and sealed with a high quality varnish.
Each painting comes with a certificate of authenticity.
