Artwork Description

8" by 11.5" mixed media and collage original painting on fine art paper.

Signed, titled and dated on the back.

I have recently been inspired by images of stones stacked upon each other and balancing harmoniously.

This fascination has become evident in my current series which is an exploration of colour, texture and collage on paper.

The symbolism of stones centres on the ideas of endurance, stability and permanence.

Calming and meditative, perfect for creating a touch of zen in your home.

Happy to create a similar work on a larger scale.

Artist Bio

Fiona Hill is an Australian contemporary abstract artist based in Windsor, Melbourne.
Her creative process is an intuitive one and involves a building up of layers of colour and texture with acrylic paints and inks. Her paintings are characterized with painterly brushstokes and drips. She works with a combination of thick and transparent layers of colour allowing the foundation layers to show through. Fiona is interested in capturing the fleeting sensations of colour and light. The abstract nature invites personal interpretation - some might see a colourful sky, a dreamscape, or an emotional expression.

Fiona's paintings have a luminous, soft and dream like quality. The overall effect is ethereal and calming, making it well suited to a minimalist, modern interior. Its guaranteed to offer viewers an escape from the chaos of a busy life. Her style is distinctive and unique. Fiona's paintings are held in private collections in Australia and in other parts of the world.
