Captured in vibrant watercolour at the Australia Day Regatta at Queenscliff in 1992, Curly’s Pride of the Creek contrasts a real working net boat in the foreground with the elegant masts of beautiful yachts. Curly is one of Queenscliff’s infamous characters; a catcher of crays, a long line fisherman, neat with the net as well, and a spinner of yarns.
