RING OUT

"Ring Out" is an original mixed media artwork by Melbourne abstract artist G Kustom Kuhl that show us the emotional state of being aware of your surroundings and wanting to move past them, to newer, better states of emotion, to an environment that can only bring greater happiness. This idea has been translated in the use of the black and white pictorial images, that on closer look are branches, twigs or nests creating a scratchy appearance of mess, being tied down as they move towards the bottom of the piece. Through the imagery a desert like plain is evident [again in black and white] suggesting something more out there. In the middle of the work we find vintage music and a shape of crimson red evoking the desire for more passion and excitement towards the new, which are represented through the numbers one to four. Four steps, four reasons, four seasons of time into the bright white of the space of the canvas which concludes the story to the faded marks of the X's. New horizons of the unknown.

This artwork has been created on Saunders Waterford 325gsm artist paper that has been adhered to board with the use of vintage papers, stencils, inks, papers, paint, oils sticks and pencils [various and layered] and finished in polyurethane clear coat. The sides have been painted black for hanging without frame option. The artwork comes with supplied signed certificate of authenticity. Ready to hang.

A Melbourne artist that creates mixed media original artwork that open up for a look into different worlds. The use of recycled materials, paint, pencils, various textures and methods like de-construction of form, opens up for an abstract universe, that encourages the observer to go on a reflective journey in a visual, as well as in the spiritual.
The pieces make up an interesting combination of inspiration from life [past & present], an interaction with the conscious, sub-conscious and the underlying elements of the spiritual beliefs.
This manifests itself in the use of signs, symbols, patterns, found objects and images of his own photography from various places and surroundings.
Colours and images that evoke memories, emotions also influence all the works and help with the communication between artwork and viewer. Making marks, using the images as forms and shapes, using text all add to the emotional experience.

I have been drawing and painting since childhood and have been involved in many exhibitions throughout my lifetime. I studied painting and drawing, graphic design and photography. My work is in various private collections throughout Australia and the world.My design/artwork has also allowed me to create various Australian music cd artwork in past years for some of Australia's largest music labels. Art & design work is on permanent display at Sydney's Powerhouse Museum [online], as an example of music artwork of the 2000's era.The other interests include building, restoring and adding creative influences to the my bespoke business of classic cars, motor cycles and custom bicycles, which I have been concentrating on for the past 20 years. Anything that's creative always has my interest.

A large number of G Kustom Kuhl's abstract original mixed media artworks have been purchased as a part of the iconic Melbourne Rydges Hotel private collection and are on permanent showing in all 372 rooms, including the penthouse suites, lobby seating areas and a large commissioned pool side original artwork that is a mixed photography piece especially created for the hotel chain.
