Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This is our closest ocean beach where we can let our dog off the leash and run!
He loves the surf and runs in and out the whole time we are on the beach.
Greenhills is the northern end of Cronulla beach. dogs are allowed up until 10am each day, but you have to be early to get car parking.
I love the smell of the salt and the long beach without buildings overshadowing it.

(CreativeWork) Wooli Landslide by Geoff Hargraves. Acrylic. Shop online at Bluethumb.(CreativeWork) South to Sandon by Geoff Hargraves. Oil. Shop online at Bluethumb.(CreativeWork) Dawn, Greenhills Beach by Geoff Hargraves. Oil. Shop online at Bluethumb. This is a handmade print. I made it by carving a plate made of lino, carving away an area so that ink will not touch the paper, so that it will remain uninked, ie. white.
Each colour has been hand rolled onto the plate then printed by hand, pressing the paper against the plate to transfer the ink.
Each sheet of the edition of 12 had to have the plate inked, then pressed.
then the plate is carved in the area where that ink was deposited, and the when the previous colour had dried, A new colour is inked and pressed onto the paper, then repeated for all sheets.
each colour needs the previous areas carved away, eventually at the last colour to be printed, very little of the plate remains, this means that it is impossible to produce any more prints from the plate as it gets gradually destroyed,
I use many small rollers ( Brayers) to ink my plates, so that small variations occur within the edition, this makes each individual print of the edition unique.
