This artwork was inspired by a peaceful visit to Port Willunga Beach, a stunning South Australian coastline known for its rugged charm and historical wooden posts, remnants of old jetties. I stood on the rocky shore, captivated by the weathered posts rising from the water, their silhouettes framed against the soft, pastel sky and the gentle waves of the Southern Ocean. At that time, several paper aeroplane soaring in the air appeared in my mind, added a sense of freedom and timelessness, and I wanted to capture that tranquil yet evocative moment—the interplay of nature, history, and quiet solitude.

In the artwork, there are several paper aeroplanes scattered across the sky, they are suggesting movement or flight. They are distributed unevenly, with some closer to the wooden posts and others farther out over the ocean, adding a sense of depth and activity to the otherwise serene scene. They are depicted in pure white, contrasting sharply with the soft, muted colors of the sky. This contrast draws the viewer’s eye upward, creating a focal point that complements the vertical lines of the wooden posts below.
