This painting is dedicated to Tasmania’s North West Nation; and particularly the Manegin Clan; my ancestors. The visible remnants of their huts & middens are scattered amongst the sprawling sand dunes, while their art and messages are engraved into the mudstone petroglyphs; that are located adjacent to the Sundown Creek; where it meets the ocean at Sundown Point Tasmania. The shapes, colours and patterns shown on the painting are symbolic of the above mentioned features; and if you look closely, one may see many of the ancient petroglyph images that are discretely and respectfully shown within the painting.
