ON SALE - Black Moth

This painting has now lived 2 lives. It started off as a bold pop art style painting of Sophia Loren. I loved it but it hung around the studio for a few years until I ran out of canvas one day and decided to revamp it. I painted the background in deep greens and pinks, leaving little bursts of colour from the under layer peeking through. A few days later I was moving a cupboard and found a drawing my 7 year old had done at school of various moths so I used that as inspiration for this painting. I really love the result.
