In this signature series of mine, flowers as the object represent life itself to me.
Our own will to be alive, and the way we want to be alive.
While I carefully paint these tiny flower petals or built up those fine leaves’ vines, it is like the way we try to figure out those uncertainties, furthermore, to be able to be closer to the truth a little bit more.

There’s a big pond in the garden, I observed those red- golden big koi swimming peacefully in the lily pond, these koi seem happy, and must have lived many years to grow this big. I enjoyed the scene quietly, captured the magical scene with my eyes, and the memory is fresh just like it was yesterday. I am HSIN LIN ,Artist based in Melbourne Australia ,obsessed with the beauty of flowers . From where I live in Bayswater, there is a big field of forest nearby. My creating process normally start from a short walk into the woods, touching the texture of the barks, feeling the sunlight reflecting on the leaves and grasses . I then collect whatever I found during the walk as inspiration. Sometimes would be the gum tree, oak tree, pine tree leaves, or bird feathers; in autumn I have acorns, and wattles in winter. There's only one rule for my collecting process, never take from the living tree/life. I collect what had fallen only, and those are the gift from the nature of the day for me. Eucalyptus flowers have the symbolic meaning as Healing and Protection, which is also my favorite tree. This painting was inspired by a magical moment that I spent with my mother who we don't see each other often. We came across this graceful gum tree together in a tranquil sunny afternoon . That is why I have the name for this particular artwork -TO BE WITH YOU-. Salute to a precious moment that I have had with the women I care the most in the world. Summer Escape- Pine-leaved Geebung (Persoonia Pinifolia) 51 x 41x 1.5 cm 28/02/2024 By HSIN LIN Acrylic on Acid-free canvas. Sealed with clear spray varnish. Side panels painted. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. <br> To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season. This artwork was inspired by my visit to the Royal Botanic Garden in Cranbourne. I was drawn immediately to this beautiful, large native shrub in full bloom in the flowering season. I love every detail of it, from the terminal racemes of small flowers in bright yellow that shine beautifully under the sun, to the long, narrow pine-like leaves. <br> Persoonia pinifolia, a species of the Proteaceae family, is an attractive large shrub with large spikes of bright, vivid yellow flowers and pine-like foliage, native to New South Wales, Australia. Pine-leaved Geebung normally flowering from mid-summer to autumn, it grows into a dense shrub that birds can take refuge in. Persoonia pinifolia loves well-drained acid soil, prefers a sunny position or one with partial shade, and tolerates reasonably heavy frosts. This is a rare sight to see as it can be difficult to propagate somehow. This is why it was a nice surprise that I encountered the Pine-leaved Geebung in its flowering season during my visit to the garden. <br> Affirmation – Do your best, all your perseverance and effort will turn into a fruitful harvest. <br> Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. It Is also a reminding to us that everything has a purpose. <br> As many of you may know I don’t paint birds very often, but when I do it’s normally a self-projection. <br> After months of lock down in Victoria, I felt the ocean was calling me so I took a day trip to Phillip Island. During the lunch I set down on a quiet beach and spotted this beautiful friend standing beside me. The weather was nice and the sky was blue. This little fella accompanied me for quite some time and I really enjoyed the serenity by the sea with my new little friend. I captured the Seagull with my eyes and camera, somehow, I saw determination and unwavering courage in its eyes, it’s comforting in a way that I cannot describe. I then worked in my studio for this piece after the trip, sending days capturing this beautiful bird with my paint brushes and canvas, and finally have it completed.
