I enjoy painting colourfield canvas's where the colours emit a feeling of warmth and ambiguity. Does the painting have any meaning or is it about the feeling that the painting stimulates in us ? So while the canvas is colour-on-colour yet it does have a secondary aspect of farmland landscape. The Australian landscape with its red and yellows and burnt hinterland. The Australian farmland regions hold a mystery not often considered. The farmer toils on acreage whilst an ancient eden resonnates underneath. So the painting can be seen as an acknowledgement of the farmer working his crops whilst underneath his plough the ancient land lives ... alive.
