Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the back.
This work continues my current development of using rust oxide paints to create natural earthy tones. In this case I have also used turquoise and gold.
I do not touch the canvas with a brush at all. The application of paint involves pouring and dripping. Enamels and acrylics are applied to water on the surface of the canvas and the movement of paint is manipulated by wind and the flow of water. I have also used a leaf blower to manipulate paint in this piece. This creates form from chaos creating a natural pattern and movement similar to what is captured in nature. Winter Glow alludes to cloud or nebula. My work is strongly influenced by aerial observations of landscape and the patterns seen in clouds, space, oil on water. The aim is to create movement that invites contemplation. My dream is to take this style further creating larger works.
