A queen, gracefully walking away into a soft light. I nicknamed her Queen of Quarantine as she was the only painting I produced during lockdown. ..I felt rather disconnected but she stepped out of the canvas. Painted alla prima, sgraffito in thick juicy paint.

Artist Bio
Jan has aways loved ballet which has become her artistic passion, there's a sense of movement and grace in her work which brings dance alive. Works are developed from life drawing sessions with ballerinas she engages to dance for her and her own observations and experiences. She works from her home studio in Perth, West Australia. She has always danced and is still taking class regularly.
She has gallery representation in Australia and at The Ballet Boutique, London, UK. In 2018 she presented her approach to ballet and art in "Meet the Artist" sessions at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD)Teachers Conference in Brisbane. She exhibits annually at the home of WA Ballet, His Majesty's Theatre and is delighted to donate and present a painting to the winning ensemble of the
David McAllister Cup at the annual RAD Festival in WA.
Jan was Artist in Residence for the Path of Hope Gala 2019. POH Foundation work in conjunction with Rotary and the Salvation Army raising funds for programs to combat domestic violence.
The original artwork 'Powerhouse' was used across all media for the RAD conference 2021, Mapping Dance, past, present and Future . Jan was asked to travel to RAD, Head Office in London for the Centenary Celebrations to present "Meet the Artist" sessions which unfortunately had to be cancelled du to Covid.
