Artwork Description

This is my interpretation of Swan Lake with some artistic licence specifically for a Gala Ball! Traditionally this scene is under ink skies because the swans become maidens for a few hours each night. As Artist in Residence I painted three approx. 200 x 200 cm artworks for the Path of Hope Gala in May 2019. This wintry scene was projected as the stage backdrop for the 60+ dancers from all over Perth who performed as swans. I love painting this onto a 2m piece of canvas taped to the wall in my studio and discovered I had a brilliant old brush for painting snow!
